Gaspe Salmon Destinations offers quality black bear hunts for both bow and rifle hunters on the game-rich Southern shore of the Gaspe Peninsula. Our hunts are run out of Salmon Lodge, situated on the banks of the world famous Grand Cascapedia River. We book a maximum of 4-hunters per week at our lodge in order to keep your hunt as exclusive and personalised as possible. The bear population in our area is excellent and is continuing to grow each year.
An average sized bear in our area is between 200-300 pounds but if you are patient, you will most likely have a shot at a much bigger bear in the 350-500 pound range. In 2002 the biggest bear shot was over 500-pounds.
Our guests hunt over 15-20 baited sites per 6-hunters at all times. Although our season runs for 6-weeks, we only hunt during the 3-prime weeks of the season. In 2006 our hunts will run from May 18 through June 9.
Our area is also world renowned for its excellent Atlantic salmon and trout fishing and is available to all of our guests as an add-on activity
Included in your package rate:
Ø Excellent meals and lodging (single or double rooms) based on availability.
Ø One guide per 2-4 hunters. Hunting mid-afternoon to dark.
Ø Prepared hunting sites for still or stand hunting.
Ø All transportation to and from hunting sites.
Not included:
Ø Skinning of hides and meat preparation for moose and bear. Add 75$.
Ø Provincial bear license and tag $108.89 Canadian funds.
Ø Alcoholic beverages. You are welcome to bring your own.
Ø 7% Federal and 8% Provincial taxes.
5-night / 5-day hunts $1,600 US FUNDS / per person / plus taxes
Spring salmon fishing $350 per day for one person fishing alone, or, 250$ per angler when two anglers are fishing together with one guide.
